Enterprise Budget Software Version 2.1 has been updated for the livestock and crop budgets.
An increase in input costs such as fertilizer and fuel necessitated a release of these production activities earlier than the traditional mid-summer timeframe. We hope it allows users to plan accordingly given current economic conditions.
A new feature has been added to several crop budgets. For corn, cotton, grain sorghum, peanuts, small grains, canola, and soybeans, the user is allowed a choice of current year market price estimates instead of defaults based on historical averages. These short-run price projections refer to the 2008 crop year only and are based on futures prices plus other information. Historical defaults can still be a pretty good indication of price levels over the longer term.
